Naseem joined MANNA in February 2010 after completing a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Washington in Seattle, with an emphasis in community-oriented public health practice, and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to working at MANNA, Naseem coordinated a drop-in center for homeless and street-identified youth in Berkeley, CA, and also worked at the University of California San Francisco Trauma Recovery Center, connecting victims of violent crime with free, outpatient mental health services.
 
Naseem’s career objective as a public health professional is to contribute to social justice and community health via equitable community-based organizing, advocacy, direct service, and research. As a member of an Iranian family with a strong culinary tradition, Naseem strongly believes in the singular healing power of proper food and nutrition, both physically and mentally.
