CEO of MANNA since September 2005, Richard leads the senior management team and works with the governing board on the implementation of its strategic vision and plan. Prior to being selected as the CEO, Richard was a member of the MANNA board and served as its board chair for several years. Richard is founder and chairman of Toppers Spa Salons, a regional chain of day spas with nearly 300 employees and remains active with entrepreneurial enterprises. 

 
With an undergraduate degree in politics from DeSales University and a certification in social work services, Richard began his career as a caseworker and director of social work services at the now defunct St. Mary Hospital in Philadelphia. He has served as a member of the Mayor’s Commission on Homelessness, President of Center City Proprietors Association, and on the board of the AIDS Library of Philadelphia. Until recently, Richard was a member of the board of ANSA (Association of Nutrition Service Agencies), headquartered in Washington, DC, and served as its treasurer.
