Panel Discussion & Networking Happy Hour

March 29, 2018 | 3:00-4:30PM

Bringing dietitians out of the shadows: Leveraging research to advance the field.

The ever-changing and expanding healthcare environment and its focus on providing high quality, affordable care presents many challenges to health professionals. Registered Dietitians (RDs) are food and nutrition experts who work to optimize health in a broad range of settings including healthcare, business and industry, community/public health, education, research, government agencies, and private practices. Although RDs are highly trained health professionals, their skills and services are often underutilized, leaving them in the shadows of healthcare. The inclusion of RDs as part of the interdisciplinary medical team offers a tremendous opportunity to optimize overall quality of patient care, improve clinical outcomes and reduce costs.

Join MANNA in a timely panel discussion to learn how research and evidence-based practices can be used to elevate the role of registered dietitians in healthcare. The panel will consist of local healthcare and policy leaders committed to furthering the integration of evidence-based nutrition services into the healthcare system, attracting Philadelphia area health administrators, practitioners, researchers, insurers, academics, and elected officials. Registered Dietitians: Pending approval, this event will qualify for Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
