PECO volunteers lend a hand to MANNA
PECO Employees Volunteer to BAKE PIES FOR MANNA’S CLIENTS ON SATURDAY NOVEMBER 14, 2009.
MANNA’s Pie in the Sky fundraiser ends November 20 at Noon.
WHAT: Client Pie Baking by PECO at MANNA
PECO volunteers and MANNA staff will bake more than 600 apple pies at MANNA, on the afternoon of Saturday, 11/14/09. Keith Lucas, MANNA’s executive chef, will be orchestrating the event. Denis O’Brien, PECO CEO, will present a $10,000 donation to MANNA during the volunteer day.
WHEN: Saturday, November 14 from 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM

There will be activity throughout the morning and early afternoon, but these hours represent the height of activity.

DETAILS: MANNA celebrates the 2009 holiday season with the delivery of a Thanksgiving meal for four to our clients, along with dessert – a freshly baked pie. PECO, one of MANNA’s longtime sponsors, is providing the vital volunteer workforce for MANNA to begin preparations for the client Thanksgiving meals.
Another great Thanksgiving tradition in the Philadelphia area is MANNA’s Pie in the Sky. From now until November 20, a selection of Thanksgiving pies will be on sale with all proceeds benefiting MANNA’s mission – to deliver nourishment to people living with life-threatening illnesses in the Delaware Valley. Orders can be placed online at www.mannapies.org or by calling 215-496-2662. Deadline for all orders is noon, Friday, November 20.
